Many People in One Body

Goody Two Shoes.

"If you pretend to be good, the world takes you very seriously. If you pretend to be bad, it doesn't. Such is the astounding stupidity of optimism."
-Oscar Wilde-

Stephen King says writing and reading is telepathy. We write silently from the mind and most often we read only with the eyes not uttering a word. When we read, we certainly don't listen.

When I write I'm petrified and aware that I come accross like one of those goody-goody two shoes people with the little wings and the cute little holy voice.

You know the type of voice and attitude I'm talking about? You often encounter it on TV when a pastor's wife or a 'holy person' talks about Bible type stuff.

Somehow the "natural" voice is gone and this little holy voice appears (together with a facial expression to match) and it just makes me want to crap in my pants.

Believe me! I'm no goody two shoes (just ask anyone who really knows me).

I often use the 'F' word when I write, but somehow I always end up removing it on the very first edit. And by the time I send the work out it is all sweet and innocent.

I suppose my work is written by the combo of spirit and flesh 'me', and the editing is done by the spirit 'me'.

Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that most of us are really three people in one body. I'm not generalising, I'm making a point.

* There is you as you are;

* You as you think you are; (self image)

* You as you want others to think you are.

By using the advice of other people, who see you as you want them to see you, you will not get the advice you really require.

Far too often we cease to trust in ourselves. If you can get to know the real you, and chip away the dung that shields the real you. Then you will receive the right answers. Answers that are more meaningful than those we simply want to hear.

Your task is to become who you are designed to be. The real you, not shielded with garbage, false images and perceptions you collect as if thought they are trophies to be proud off.

Rid yourself of the useless images of the past and start living. For right now, the person you think you are, is in control. You need to release and let go of this person, so that the real you can take charge of your life.

"You will never change your life until you change something you do daily."
